I have my post-lap exam on Thursday and I think my doctor plans to prescribe me Orlissa. I've heard Orlissa works by regulating hormones, therefore it won't work as well if you are also on hormonal birth control (which I am). I suspect I will be taken off the bc pill and put on Orlissa for ~6 months ---but what do I do for birth control for 6 months?
So I had larascopic ablation and cyst removal done about two weeks ago. The dr prescribed tramadol for the pain. Unfortunately I left the script for the meds in my friends care who i cant get ahold of. I had a few pills left from a previous prescription but I'm down to 3 pills. Problem is that suddenly my pain has come back full force and now that I'm back at work I need the meds to get through my shift. I heard some people where able to get meds prescribed through pain clinics. How do I… read more
I have been taking Visanne for 3 months and it has been amazing for the pelvic pain and bleeding. Prior to being on Visanne I had been bleeding for 2 consecutive months with no stop and was hospitalized 3 times for the pain.
I was finally referred to a gyno and she prescribed Visanne which started working immediately to my surprise and was such a relief. I was not told that this was not a birth control pill and was just told that they wanted to change my pill. I realize… read more
I am on my 2nd month of Lupron. I am taking norethindrone as my add back. I had the most disgusting night sweats, like changing the sheets every day, changing clothes in the middle of the night every night, my husband couldn't sleep in the bed it was so wet. The docfor put me on Prozac because some antidepressants are also good for night sweats and not flashes. The Prozac made me act very strange, so we switched to Zoloft. Mg question is,… read more
I have suspected endometriosis and am looking for advice on painkillers if trying to conceive. I had a laparoscopy 2 years ago. No endo was found but had a merina coil fitted and all pelvic/ibs symptoms disappeared for about 18mths. Since then the pain and other symptoms have been gradually returning to the point of being quite severe (but not as frequent or long lasting as they were pre coil and no period just very light spotting).
Anyway I’m having my coil removed tomorrow as we are going to try… read more
For some reason I can’t post this anywhere so I’m sorry if this is the wrong place or something. But I’m hoping it posts. I had my diagnostic lap. today. I know some of you were following my post where I asked for tips to see how today went. First, thank you all so much for your input in well wishes. I order an abdominal support band that was recommended to me, I’m hopefully it will help especially since I’m heavier and have a mommy pooch from my… read more
I want to ask my doctor about this, as no birth control or hormonal therapy really helps me. Does anyone know anyone that has had this done? Was it worth it? Doctors have told me opposite things. One told me it’s not done anymore, because it doesn’t really work. Other people have said that it is a 70% success rate with pain reduction.
I’ve been to two doctors so far over two years who have only changed my endometriosis management medication in response to pain complaints. For the past few years, I’ve been denied pain medication despite my symptoms getting worse and treatment being ineffective.
Ibuprophen takes days to work when taken on a schedule, and then it only helps somewhat. I’m bedridden during periods and in constant pain around the month. I’m tired of suffering while I… read more
I lived abroad for eight months and before I left I had a gyno that I didn't really like but needed birth control and Naproxen. I had a laparoscopy December 2014 and was finally diagnosed with endometriosis. Last summer I went to the er for pain and they found in the ultrasound that I had a cyst rupture in the past month (is that shit even normal? My body is weird as fuck sometimes). I have noticed endo pain increasing around my period, the… read more
I can only have sex about once every so hours because after it would feel like alcohol in an open wound. And my boyfriend... enjoys himself a little to fast the first time around. I got a pain numbing ointment so I don't feel the pain and can enjoy sex (lidocaine; it must be prescribed knowing it's going inside of you over the counter lidocaine is for external use only and will not be good ) so how do I make the first time last longer so I get to enjoy it sometimes too
