I have almost every symptom of endometriosis. Painful cramps (on and off my period) since before I even started my period at age 11. When I was younger I went to a couple different doctors and they tried to downplay my pain and told me it’s normal and I need to get used to it. I only had one doctor that did diagnose me with PCOS based on hormone levels but never did any imaging. As an adult I have gone to two different Gynos and one told me I “probably” have it and did a vaginal ultrasound. He… read more
Try Slynd birth control!!!
I'm 23 and have had almost every test in the book to try and figure out why I'm always so exhausted, have bladder/pelvic/bladder/intestinal pain. I've been told it's an overactive bladder and food in tolerances because all of my tests come back normal . I'm so discouraged that im afraid to go for diagnostics because I don't want to feel like I went for nothing. I'm supposed to go Monday for a second opinion but I'm so nervou . Any similar experiences?
Unless you have Endometrioma's (or known as Chocolate cysts) they cant pick up Endometriosis unless you have a Laporoscopy. Not all Endo sufferers have Endometrioma's.... So find a doctor willing to… read more
Has anyone experienced weight gain as a symptom of endo?
I’m off all hormonal birth control and I’ve gained 30lb the last two years. I want to say the main contributors are being less active & also a hormone imbalance? Ugh
My doctor put on my form that I only need to take one day off for the surgery and then the next day from work. Does that seem right?? I know I shouldn’t believe everything I read on the Internet or see on TikTok, but so many people have said that it took them at least a week to start moving around normally again.
I was doing pretty well after surgery, walking, eating etc, but you can’t lift anything and have to limit what you do. I would definitely take more than a day but every person is different. I had a… read more
Hiya,
Could you please give me your honest advice/thoughts? Currently at the end of my tether and don't know who else to turn to.
Since I was 14 (now almost 26) I have seen various different doctors and a gynaecologist being told all sorts of different things but all of them have said they suspect I have endometriosis. With my current doctor she is the best one I have seen to date and is really clued up on the disease and says she is 100% sure I have it and all my symptoms match, there's… read more
Thanks ladies for your help. I have an appointment on Saturday morning with a different doctor and I'm going to request a referral to a gynae.
Hey everyone
I recently attended an appointment with PAMS to answer questions and give details to my employer through her, about my condition and when I'll be able to return to work
I have only recently been diagnosed with endo, but have been in pain with it for several months. The lady who I seen was lovely and fully understood what I'm going through. I've not been given an appointment with a specialist yet and have been waiting the past month or so to see him/her, during this I've been… read more
I think us girls with endo have to start coming together and forming some kind of non-profit that helps us get temporary and full time disability benefits. We are being put in an impossible situation… read more
I have been having problems with my period being irregular for years. The left side of my abdomen swells so much for weeks before my period that I look pregnant. I bleed heavily for days and my cramps are so horrible that I can't move or I become nauseous. My doctor thought it was my thyroid, testing came back normal. When the swelling began causing pain my doctor ordered a M.R.I. which came back normal also. Any ideas?
See a specialist, My MRI was normal and I ended up doing laparoscopy and confirming endometriosis
I'm 20 years old and only started having severe pelvic pain and digestive issues at the very beginning of 2023. I have seen a ton of different doctors over the course of five months and was told absolutely nothing about my condition. I've had two ultrasounds so far and have one coming up. My most recent doctor suspected I have endometriosis based on all of my symptoms but when I have questions I'm only given vague responses or the "it could be" answer. I'm really tired of not getting the… read more
You definitely have to advocate for yourself...and, sadly, often bring someone else to testify on your behalf that a) you're not crazy and it's not "just in your head" and b) that you're not… read more
I'm 17 years old right now and have been dealing with chronic pain(abdominal and migraines) since I was 12. It started with dually migraines and then went into daily nausea. I went to every odctot possible and they couldnt figure out what it was. I have been in the ER too often to count. It went over too extreme abdominal pain more in the upper area and then in the lower area also. I was checked for gallstones through ultrasound and blood tests. Hello, I wanted to speak to people that have been diagnosed and how they knew it was endo. I've been going to the doctor due to lower left abdomen pain that has been going on for a year. Some days it's worse than others but when on my period the pain in my entire uterus and rectum is really extremely bad (for about 5 years now) It doesn't feel like cramps and sometimes I feel like I'm going to faint or like something is trying to come out of my because of the shooting pains but now my lower left… read more
