Has Anyone Else Had A Hard Time Being Diagnosed?

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question đź’
Phoenix, AZ

I have almost every symptom of endometriosis. Painful cramps (on and off my period) since before I even started my period at age 11. When I was younger I went to a couple different doctors and they tried to downplay my pain and told me it’s normal and I need to get used to it. I only had one doctor that did diagnose me with PCOS based on hormone levels but never did any imaging. As an adult I have gone to two different Gynos and one told me I “probably” have it and did a vaginal ultrasound. He… read more

How Do I Deal With My Parents Who Make Comments Like "your Fucked Up In The Head From Hormones"/ It Must Be The Hormones, Ur Always Up/down

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question đź’
St. Louis, MO

I just feel like they don't validate how I feel, and blame my hormones, it's hurtful and not considerate to me, it made me blow up and then they make those comments instead of focusing on the real issue. They think I always make things up, and can never believe me, which is why I go to therapy because I have been such a people pleaser from my childhood, I always keep going back and still put my parents before me even though they make me feel very upset and hurt me often with those comments.

Bleeding After Sex Post Laparoscopy

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question đź’
Brisbane, CA

Hi everyone
I just wanted to ask if anyone else has experienced bleeding after sex after having a laparoscopy
A bit of background: 2 months ago I had a laparoscopy and hysteroscopy to remove some endometriosis and install a mirena. Since then I’ve been really careful and haven’t done any hard exercise or had sex. I had a 6 week check up with my gyno and was given the all clear but now I’m experiencing bleeding again after having sex and I don’t have the usual period symptoms. Has anyone else… read more

I Hope This Isn't Too Personal But I Was Wondering How Old You Ladies Were When You Got Diagnosed ?

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question đź’
Portland, ME

I'm 23 and have had almost every test in the book to try and figure out why I'm always so exhausted, have bladder/pelvic/bladder/intestinal pain. I've been told it's an overactive bladder and food in tolerances because all of my tests come back normal . I'm so discouraged that im afraid to go for diagnostics because I don't want to feel like I went for nothing. I'm supposed to go Monday for a second opinion but I'm so nervou . Any similar experiences?

I’m off all hormonal birth control and I’ve gained 30lb the last two years. I want to say the main contributors are being less active & also a hormone imbalance? Ugh
