I️ really need help with bowel endo! Below is the situation.
Summer 2016: rectal bleeding during my period along with an acute episode of bowel pain and urgency (feels like severe food poisoning) at the onset of each period begins
Sept 2016: colonoscopy was completely normal other than severe cramping halfway through the procedure that woke me up out of fentanyl sedation! Was told the rectal bleeding was due to hormonal changes and I️ did not need another colonoscopy until I’m 50.
Nov 2016:… read more
Will your hysterectomy put you into menopause? My doctor said we wouldn’t do a bowel resection if I was close to menopause, since my symptoms would go away or at least reduce greatly after menopause… read more
The surgery went well. Unfortunately the pain that I was having was being caused by a herniated disc leaking fluid bc the pain came back regardless of my hysterectomy and my colon surgery. Now I did… read more
i have had so many that sometimes they would use the same holes, but they also go in to the old ones as well. have about 6 small incisions on my belly, one close to the vagina and the one in my belly… read more
My gynecologist told me that she felt a pelvic mass on a bimanual exam that suggested to her that I might have an endometrioma or more on the other side of my vaginal cuff. She also noted a polyp on the vaginal side of the cuff that might be endometriosis. Why would a transvaginal ultrasound and a CT scan find absolutely nothing, when I was in so much pain that I needed hydromorphone in the ER to control it?
Sorry you are still experiencing pain after all you’ve been through, it feels hopeless at times. Maybe the doctor who did your pelvic exam was incorrect….or maybe you have a lesion where they can’t… read more
Reading about everyone's experiences I see that many people have been diagnosed with bowel endometriosos. I was just wondering how this was diagnosed? I have been having GI symptoms ever since I was diagnosed with endometriosis and my doctor recommended seeing a surgeon for a colonoscopy.I'm a bit apprehensive because she mentioned things like ulcerative colitis. Any feedback about any of your experiences would be appreciated:)
I had a colon resection 2yrs ago do to endo attaching to my colon
I had Laparoscopy surgery 6 weeks ago. They lysed a lot of adhesions that were on the bowel. I was feeling fine but the last week I am experiencing pain again. I have been told that they will come back but I was wondering if anyone has experienced this?
That's so true for me also I had the hysterectomy salpingo oophorectomy and still in pain. I have a endo belly now presently on Lupron 11.25 don't think it's working, seriously thinking about… read more
I have a hospital appointment on the 23rd January to decide if I want to go ahead with the laparoscopic surgery to remove the scarring from my bowel.
I'm nervous about this as I have read how surgery has made it worse for some people and also... The biggest fear, bowel being ruptured!
Has anyone else had endo on the bowel and had this surgery?
Did it help with stomach pains/bowel movements etc?
Would you recommend the surgery?
I know the Obvious answer is have the surgery but I wondered… read more

New here but sadly not to endometriosis. Obviously I live with the burden of this disease running my life and marriage so after a year of being told I need a hysterectomy I have scheduled it. The Dr is saying 6 weeks for healing. We are doing laparoscopic with the possibility of abdominal removal as I have Stage 4 and it is covering my bowels and possibly reached my bladder. Any of you who have had a hysterectomy please tell me how long did it take until you could move around at least for an… read more
I had a hysterectomy in June of 2022 and honestly I don’t recall the specifics of when exactly I was able to move around, but I do remember I used my mom’s walker the first month and then as I was… read more
I'm just looking for stories about how it went for women under 30. I'm 28 and I'm having one done within the next five months (Dr said two but I'm being realistic). I have one child, been pregnant twice, and my husband and I are happy with one child.
How long was the hospital stay?
How long was the recovery time?
Did it help? My dr is talking 80% + reduction in pain levels. He is very sure I have adenomyosis on top of the endometriosis, so the hysterectomy should really help.
Hey guys sorry for the delay. The only way I know it's on my colon is from surgery and the pain I have when I have a bm or even feel my bowels moving around in my stomach is excruciating.
I kept… read more
Hey friendos! I know everyone will be quite different and it depends on how extensive the surgery is etc, but just trying to get an idea of avg recovery time post lap? When could you go for a bike ride, lift weights, walk half an hour etc? My Dr said anywhere from 2-6 weeks off work (I’m a physio). I’m having 3 golf ball sized endometriomas removed, excision to optimise the pelvis/reproductive system, possible D&C and explore elsewhere to see what we’re dealing with for a more extensive surgerg… read more
