Sex
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I can only have sex about once every so hours because after it would feel like alcohol in an open wound. And my boyfriend... enjoys himself a little to fast the first time around. I got a pain numbing ointment so I don't feel the pain and can enjoy sex (lidocaine; it must be prescribed knowing it's going inside of you over the counter lidocaine is for external use only and will not be good ) so how do I make the first time last longer so I get to enjoy it sometimes too

You've been to the ER too many times, so you bring a bag of stuff with you...ipad, iPhone, headphones. That stuff. Maybe I should create an ER playlist. Only half joking.

Sex After Lap & D&C..?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Very TMI post, but I need to know lol. What is everyone's experience with their first time having sex after a laparoscopy and/or D&C? How long did you wait? I was told 2 weeks but I'm afraid of the pain... But my boyfriend and I had already scheduled a nice vacation which is 2 1/2 weeks after my surgery. I had the surgery a week ago, still feel like I'm having uterus cramps/aches and still bleeding.

Also, more into the TMI section- are all kinds of sex not allowed? Vaginal, anal, and oral? Or… read more

Wait until the bleeding is completely stopped and in my experience sex actually is what made the pain go away, like completely. I was so surprised that it was the only thing that made a difference… read more

Does Anyone Else Obstain From Sex Completely Because Of Pain?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I'm in so much pain on a daily basis there's no way I can have sex. I feel so horrible that I have my hubby wait so long in between times that we do. He's a good man and understands that it hurts and it's not easy for me. I used to have a very active sex life and was up for it all the time ( not that I don't want sex) but I can no longer even consider it. Even when masturbating(not internally) it hurts to the point that I have to stop and I become swollen etc. I've tried to talk to my doctor but… read more

Too Soon For Specialist/fertility Testing?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Has anyone else seen a specialist or had fertility testing done right after endo diagnosis? It's been almost 3 months since my surgery/diagnosis. I am still having troubling symptoms despite the operation and birth control pills. I am not quite yet ready to try to conceive but was wondering if it's too presumptuous to go ahead and see a specialist or have fertility testing done. I am so afraid that this disease will get out of control and prevent me from being able to become pregnant when I'm… read more
