I started taking visanne 7-8 weeks ago and had a noticeable reduction in pain however my first cycle while on the medication hasnt stopped and I'm going on 4 weeks. My gyno is suggesting I tough it out since it's working to reduce pain but I'm inclined to stop if the bleeding continues. Everything I've read so far about visanne indicates your period should become lighter and maybe even disappear so I'm wondering if anyone else had this side effect and was there a way to stop the bleeding?

My doctor at school suggested that one but my doctor back home said it's only good for people who've have children. Anyone have experience with the mirena?

I wanna know if someone who is going through what I am going through. I'm on Visanne from 4 months, my periods have stopped completely now. The pain is almost gone too. But when it hurts it hurts really really bad. And I am really really sleepy that whole time. I've been in pain from the last 3 days. And all I wanna do is sleep. Hey all! It’s been 5 weeks since I’ve had my first laparoscopic surgery along with a DNC. I just ended my first period since the surgery which sucked major ass but im curious what everyone else’s experiences have been after their first period after the surgery as well as experience after their first surgery? I still don’t feel like the surgery has helped. I have pain still so I don’t know if that’s because I’m still healing? TIA

Diagnosed April of this year. I already had really bad cramping prior to the surgery. It just feels its increased significantly after the surgery.

On Aug 1st I had endometriosis laparoscopic surgery. I got first period on aug 14th and after that I didn't get my periods. For this surgery doctor suggested 3 injections for every month. I took that on aug1st, sep 1st, oct 1st. When I called and asked doctor about my periods they said until your injection power goes down then you get periods.
But I didn't get periods and am gaining weight.

I've been taking Visanne for a year now and doctor has said I can stop it. How long did it take for your period to return after stopping it? And have you experienced any other symptoms? I've been off it for 2 weeks now. No period yet, but I've had breast sensitivity, increased appetite and increased libido. I would love to hear your experiences!
