I can't help but feel depressed every time the burning pain says hello. It's as if it's reminding me that I'm "defected" and will have to take special measures to try to get pregnant. I have friends posting on their Facebook about their unplanned pregnancies and I can't help but be mildly upset. I know it's not impossible for endo sisters to get pregnant but I still have that little voice in the back of my head telling me "you should accept that you may never get pregnant". I'm a believer in God… read more
@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member no problem! Glad I could help in some way. All in God's timing, which for us can seem to take an eeeeeternityyyy! But once it happens we can't imagine a more perfect time for those kind of things to come. God bless!
Keep being the hippie chick you are. It may mean though finding different holistic care providers who work in tandem not just with the physical pain of Endo and ovarian cysts but the psychological too. I've been blessed that when I sought an Endo surgeon's expertise, she said no...not unless I did acupuncture. She was right: Endo was NOT back. There were a lot of nasty adhesions and ovarian cysts. She referred me to the most amazing acupuncturist who does a lot of women's health issues. In that same office is an amazing chiropractor and they work together to help each patient. Coincidentally, the chiropractor and I were in high school together and took Chorus together, so it always gives my chiropractor and I a nice chance to catch up. He's married to a wonderful girl we were in school with too and she was in Choir too.
Don't rule out something like freezing eggs. Thank you for not ruling out adoption.
@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member - It truly means a lot to me that you would share your journey! My fertility specialist had my husband and I tested. Everything came back normal so she started me on clomid. Unfortunately, the clomid stirred up the endometriosis (that I had no idea I had at the time). That's when I went to the ER and the doctor there told me I might have endo. I had the lap surgery but the pain returned a month later and has only gotten worse. I've noticed my bladder seems to be weak and I now feel some discomfort during sex, which I used to not have. I'm still praying we get pregnant. I figure once we get my pain under control, we can focus on trying to get pregnant again. Until then, it is in God's hands. I am not on birth control and we are staying sexually active. xo
@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member - You are so right! I need to stop letting satan worm around in my thoughts! I'm so thankful that you reminded me to stay strong and lean on God! &Thank you for offering up your time to help an endo sister out!!! xo
@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member - Thankfully, these are people I love and cherish so I'm not genuinely unhappy for them. It's more of a "debbie downer" to see that they received an opportunity before I did and that I may or may not even have the chance to bear my own child... something I've desired for as long as I can remember. I agree with you that the pharmaceutical companies want to do everything that they can to keep us dependent on them. Unfortunately for me, I am an organic hippie chick and have tried exercise and all natural treatments before making any doctor appointments. Nothing helped... not even a casteroil body wrap lol
I will say that I'm thankful to be a motherly figure to my younger sister and brother. At home, I fullfill that maternal need by caring deeply for my two furbabies. I know I just need to walk by faith and trust that God will provide... whether it be my own flesh and blood, adoption or mentoring.
Are you genuinely not happy for them or are you happy but just wondering when it will happen to you?
As far as helping with infertility...same shpeel you hear from everyone: healthy eating, exercise, lots of water. Acupuncture can help. There's also other options. Please don't rule out other options like adoption and foster care.
Science and technology play a large role too in the form of IVF treatments for some. In the US, insurance typically doesn't cover any of that. If they do, it's when a woman is diagnosed with cancer. Insurance then pays for part of the cost of the meds but doesn't pay for the freezing. Yet they WILL pay for Viagra and the pain meds that ruin your organs. Go figure. :/
I definitely feel depressed when my pains are too much. I have pain 24/7, but there's days when it just catches up. You are NOT an awful person for having those feelings. We're human and we can't help but feel that sting of hurt that we don't have the same chances as other women to live life "normally". And we did nothing to cause these things.. We were BORN this way! I am a big believer in God also and I keep working towards getting closer to him. There's days I question him and get so upset, yet I refuse to let the devil turn me against Him. I have even tried getting my boyfriend to leave me because I am not the same active, positive person I used to be and I also have uterine didelphys.. I have two cervix vaginas and uterus.. So my Infertility rates are even higher. But he refuses to leave and gets so mad when I push him away.
God has His plan for us and He sent people to be by our side and has pulled people out of our lives so we may live as best we can and get closer to Him.
You are not alone on this journey and it's completely normal. If you are ever feeling like this come here and ask for a girl talk or you can email me if you'd like @
