I got fed up with bc pills and stopped taking them. Once i was off, i felt better for awhile, then everything got worse. For fertilty reasons, i would suggest staying on them until you are ready for a family.

The birth control treats the disease so without it you get the full effect of the endometriosis. Trust me I've stopped it the pain gets much worst. Even with excision where they are excentully removing the endo by its roots vs just treating the surface by burning it you will still need some sort of treatment in place because the endometriosis can always come back. There currently is no cure (including excision). There are books out there that give you ways to treat the Endo with diet.... I haven't just tried those though so I couldn't tell you how well it works.

I can't really discuss what risks to your endo may be involved, as I'm honestly not sure what it will do to your endo. All I do know is that BC has been the biggest struggle of my life. I'm all about not having tiny ones running around my house, but every type of birth control I have taken has made my life miserable. I've done several different types of pills, the patch, the ring, the shot. Everything was miserable.

At this point, I've stopped taking birth control simply because it impeded my life even more and dealing with endo is hard enough as it is. I would just talk to your doctor and see if they can try a different type of birth control before giving up on it entirely, but as I said, I have yet to find anything that works for me.
