Depo Shot And Endometriosis
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I've been on the depo provera shot for a year and a half. The first year I had no issues and now I'm in so much pain in my pelvis and hips, and have severe low back pain. Dr said I had a UTI but took antibiotics and I still have cloudy urine, pain going up my back and in my lower abdomen. Never had pain peeing or burning. Has anyone experienced any of this?

@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member Did you go back to your doctor to be tested again to make sure the UTI is cleared up? Cause if it isn't the infection goes up into your kidney causing a kidney infection. If that is left untreated the infection can go to your bloodstream and that is not good at all. I have been on Deop Provera from Oct 2009 to April 2013 and back on again April 2014 to this date. And I have never ever gotten pain relief. I has stopped my period while on it.

It's been seven years and I'm still not back down to my size I was before depo.

The only other thing he said it could be is interstitial cystitis but I dont have the pain or burning or anything with urination so thats unlikely

It has helped with the cycle pain. But in the last few months mine has become more of a constant pain and i don't have a cycle becuz of the depo so I'm not entirely sure what is going on with my body. My OBGYN did say that to some women with endometriosis that this does just cone in like this i just started taking birth control pills with my shot to try and manage the new symptoms I'm hoping it works too soon to tell. Also have a lap in 2 weeks so if they find something they can actually remove i think I'll be better off than i am now.
