Hey @A MyEndometriosisTeam Member! Sorry for the late response, I'm a nurse so I was familiar with the team that was in the OR. I did not try Mirena, or was afraid further damage and scared tissue. I hope all went well in the consulting and will be thinking of you as you undergo surgery and recovery.

Thank you so much. I live in a small town & have 1 good surgeon that is going to give me a laprascopy if all the other test turn out ok. I already told him I don't want a colostomy. I'm scared to death. He is going to look around & see if he can snip off some of the adhesions cause I really think that is what is giving me the problem. Years ago when I lived in Ca I did have a team of dr.s cause I had endo in my intestines & it was a long surgery but he removed what he could without messing up an organ & I was good for a lon time but the endo kept coming back along with adhesions.

The Gynecologist that did my surgery had a gastrointestinal surgeon, a nephrologist, and cardiothoracic surgeon outside of the OR ready to come in if needed. Based on the list of symptoms I gave her and the fact that I had been diagnosed with IBS and had painful urination in addition to what she saw on my CT scan she made the decision to make it an interdisciplinary surgery. So ultimately, based on your symptoms and history the surgeon will have additional surgeons on standby. Prior to surgery my Dr and I agreed on what I was OK with happening in surgery and what I was not. I agreed to have my left ovary removed if needed and bowel resection if necessary and as long as it wouldn't require a colostomy. Hope that helps some!

A ct scan can only show if there is a blockage & that's why dr.s are hesitant to perform the surgery so that is why I'm insisting on the laprascopy but I told the surgeon if he sees there is gonna be a problem close me up cause I don't want a colostomy bag.
