This year I turned 22 years old. When I was younger (not that I'm still not "young") I would have horrendous back pain, cramps, and heavy bleeding. Whenever I turned 19 I noticed I was barely having a period. Kinda like all my period was, was spotting.. I was and still am on birth control. So I was thinking it was natural and my body was finally adapting to my bc-pills. At 20 years old I was having terrible back and pelvic pain. So I went to my primary doctor and they did an ultrasound. I knew something was wrong because having sex with husband was beyond painful, and not pleasurable at the time.. The pain was sooooo BAD! I get a call from my doctors office only to find out I have an ovarian cyst the size of a grapefruit, and that I needed to have surgery. So I go to my gynecologist and he sets me up a time and date to have surgery. As of that time endometriosis had never been discussed! So three days later I go in for surgery, I was so scared. He preformed a laproscopy on me. The cyst had grew even more and it was wrapped around my right ovary. He told my mother it wasn't saveable. But he DID save IT. My mom gets worried because the surgery is taking a lot LONGER than IT SHOULD BE. He then diagnosed me with stage 3 endometriosis. It had attacked around my bladder, bowel, and a few spots in the uterus along with my ovary. He said whenever I was having a period I was bleeding in my uterus causing scar tissue. He doesn't allow me to have a period, I'm on straight birth control, and a daily probiotic to keep my immune health built up. As he states I'm saving your eggs. No period, no ovulation. I take Norco 7.5 for the pain along with flexeril, phenagrin for the nausea, and nothing seems to truly help the back pain. I joined this group about 2-3 months ago and I haven't ever commented on anything.. But, I'm so glad I am not alone with this diagnosis and I have yall tooooo talk to. Feel free to ask any questions, or whatever. And try to have an amazing night.

I just joined this site as I'm off right recovering from my first laparoscopy. I had always had some lower back pain since I was a teenager then a year ago it got significantly worse. To the point where I could barely stand and was throwing up. My family doctor had no idea what was going on, went to the hospital same thing. I had a CAT scan, 3 MRI's and 2 ultrasounds over the course of 6 months. Still nothing. I saw an internal medicine specialist also. The problem was my back pain was constant all the time - I was on 8 pills a day (ex amitriptyline every night, a prescription anti-inflammatory, etc... ) finally it began to be a bit better more controlled so I could take less pills & I myself was doing a lot of research as nobody had answers. I started really paying attention to my cycle and the pain and that's when I thought maybe endo. Got referred to Gyno specialist and she started me on Visanne right away. She did tell me it will take a good 3 months (maybe longer) before I could really feel a difference. My day to day pain had become manageable I was still on amitriptyline every night and I think I just adjusted to the pain but during my period it was so bad!!! It was affecting my work. In January (been on Visanne for 3 months at this point) my Gyno said she could book me for surgery as she could see it was taking a toll on me. Surgery was booked for March 8. She confirmed that I had endo. She removed all the sightings of it. I don't have much other information on what was found because I don't have my follow up with her for a few more weeks. I felt some relief of back pain by the next day, it's not completely gone but I think part of that is from my stomach is still very much healing and my tailbone is often sore from resting all the time / my current physical limitations. Sorry for the long message here but just to show sometimes endo has weird or different symptoms !

Oh my gosh. I struggle with this daily now. It's awful and exhausting. I take norco and snuggle with my heating pad. So sorry you are going through it too.

Mine gets so bad sometimes it hurts to bad to walk. Muscles relaxers sometimes help for a small bit of relief, but they also make me very sleepy. It was better for a couple years after my first laparoscopy but after my second surgery it came back about 8 months later. I'm a ballroom instructor so it really makes my job hard.
