17 is not too young at all, I started having all of the symptoms at 13 and by the time my doctor finally believed me I had a laparoscopy for endo at 19 and I was stage 2. The only way to find out and stop the endo from doing more damage is a laparoscopy. Having said that mine has grown back and I've had another but I would suggest to get a laparoscopy to be certain and so you can have a treatment plan. All the best! :)

U definetly need to find out. The younger u know for sure the better!!! These are ur reproductive organs here!! Yes endo is incurable but if it's causing u pain u have every right to know it's there & have the option to have it burnt out. Just do some thinking before the surgery because I contented for mine to be burnt off during surgery before I even knew what it was. Get ur facts before u make any decisions about it when ur diagnosed.. Find out ur stage & look into things because this illness can effect ur reproduction later on down the track (if endo is present) just because u have it burnt doesn't mean it's gone! Mine was burnt off only 4 months ago & I can tell it's back. U are only 17 and if u don't have a severe stage of endo I suggest u leave it until ur ready to have kids because at least 50% of women that have their endo burnt off have it return within a year unfortunately

Yes, definitely go for the larascopy. I did and that's how my doctor discovered my endo was stage 4 and so bad it had my right ovary, Fallopian tube, and appendix stuck to my bowel. What was a routine larascopy turned into an 8 hour major surgery. Do it. Ignorance isn't bliss.. You need to know what's going on in the inside. 😘

Definitely see another doctor. One of the common misconceptions about endometriosis is that young women can't have it. I had issues from the age of 13. My doctor put me on the pill to "slow progression" if I did happen to have it. At 19 I could no longer take the pill so they had to do a laparoscopy and found stage 3 endometriosis. The pill had not helped me at all. It only helps the symptoms (sometimes) but doesn't stop it. A laparoscopy can't cure endometriosis but at least you know what you are dealing with. :)

17 is not too young. Honestly i would suggest finding another dr. The pill may help your symptoms. It may not. But i think if u want to know then you have every right to know. By not knowing you could end up doing more damage with bc pills or other treatments.
