Yes, completely disabled because of it and haven't been able to work since.
I'm currently working with a fabulous team at Women’s Health Clinic for Pelvic Pain & Endometriosis here in Vancouver, BC Canada
They have been able to explain how endometriosis can cause chronic pelvic pain and pelvic floor dysfunction.
By working with a physiotherapist who specializes in this I have been able to reduce my pain and I'm slowly rebuilding my strength. The gains are small but they are the first step forward in years.
I cannot say enough good things about finding a good physiotherapist who specializes in pelvic pain. I had worked with so many before and it only made the pain worse.
I had these pains and went to physical therapy. It helps SO much. They diagnosed me with pelvic floor dysfunction. They said the leg, hip, lower back were all stemming from the pelvic floor dysfunction. And in my case they were right! I've gone for about 6-8 weeks. I've made huge improvements. I just got an extension for an extra 8 weeks. I'm not 100% but I've come such a long way that I'm hopeful to continue to make improvements. I absolutely recommend physical therapy for those who haven't tried it yet.
I agree. I went to a physical therapy information on Endometriosis, and I'm having thoughts of trying that out as a way to manage and alleviate the pain. I'll definitely share if it helps any. xx
I had physiotherapy after my 1st lap (had a total of 4), and she advised that following abdominal surgery, the psoas muscle can become tight. If left, this muscle can shorten, become very painful and cause damage to the hips etc. There are some simple stretches (lots of YouTube videos) that may help. Might be worth a try X
Yes, sometimes sitting is the most painful position. Standing for an extended period hurts as well.
