I strongly feel that Lupron is not the right way to go - it has very sever side effects and only 5% of women stay on it for longer than 2 weeks, so through those side effects only 5% will feel any relief. For many women side effects last for many years or are even permanent, even if they were only on Lupron for a short time.

Are you seeing a Endo specialist or a regular OB/GYN? Regular OB/GYN's are almost always not trained enough to treat this disease. They use out dated surgery techniques that do not remove the Endo effectively, and when that inevitably doesn't work, they use dangerous drugs to try and suppress re-growth.

An Endo specialist will do something called excision technique - during surgery they remove each piece of diseased tissue by cutting it out, rather than burning as a regular GYN will do. Burning only removes the top layer of the tissue, leaving the whole root of it behind - a GYN will also not be trained to see all varieties of Endo in all it's different appearances, they also don't know to look in all of the places that Endo can be found, such as the diaphragm etc. Without removing all of the diseased tissue completely, it will continue to grow and continue to cause pain.

After having surgery with a skilled Endo specialist using excision technique, a large amount of women will never have to have surgery again or be on drugs. For people who's Endo is aggressive, they may need more - but it will be a lot less than with the burning technique.

I've had 3 surgeries in under 2 years with a regular GYN and was then told to get pregnant or go on Lupron. I'm currently seeing a Endo specialist and will have my first excision in August. These FB groups and the documentary made me feel even more confident in having this 4th surgery.

I did 6 months of Lupron (2- 3-month injections). I've regretted it ever since. I have Stage IV Endo and within 3 weeks of each injection i spent multiple nights in the hospital with unbearable pain. I gained 30 pounds, constant night sweats and hot flashes, memory loss, all of it. After getting a second and third opinion, both agreed they couldn't believe my original OB/GYN put me on it. I was referred to an RE for fertility testing (husband and I have been TTC 3+ years) and my period didn't return for 8 months and when it did it was AWFUL. I felt the same as I did before. We were advised that IVF might be our only option. We did our first round in Jan '16 and it was unsuccessful with low-quality embryos. Our RE believes the Lupron was STILL somewhat in my system which resulted in the unfortunate results. Six months after our first IVF cycle, I'm starting to have daily pains again but I actually welcome it because I feel after 18 months, the Lupron might actually be out of my system now!

Ask them to consider synarel... It does the same thing and is a nasal spray I am on it and it's working so for I feel better than I did before .... I also had excision surgery along with it

I'm on Lupron now actually. I feel better than before I started taking it. I'm on Lupron because my doctor didn't want to put me through another surgery. I had two in less than a year. But I haven't had any bad side effects other than acne.

Do the Lupron Injection IM- they do it in your rear & you don't look- mine I'm on now is 1 shot for 3 months- then I'll get another shot for 3 months- I feel like MY OLD SELF AGAIN!!! Do it! I'm 22, and I'm thankful I did it!
