After years of living with a disease doctors seem to know so little about it was quite a relief!

I was diagnosed with stage IV endo in 2013. I have patent tubes but poor ovarian reserves. I went for IVF and during my egg retrieval was when they could see that my egg reserve was diminished. I however ended up with 2 excellent quality embryos, but sadly neither of them took. I am looking at seeing a specialist in Vancouver next to see whether or not excision would help. My fertility specialist seems to believe that excision of endo does not restore fertility. I realize that this is his opinion so I will take it upon myself to get a second. I hope that the endo specialist can tell me otherwise! I hope you find the answers you are looking for... Best of luck with everything. It is a difficult journey.

I've had a laparoscopy and a laser laparoscopy. They cauterized my endo and then my cysts that I had on my ovaries inside and outside of them as well as my cervix. With the laser they can get 100% of the endo where as standard laparoscopy they can get rid of most of it but not all. In harder spots that are behind my intestines and what not. Does that help at all?

The only treatment that can successfully treat endo is excision surgery by a skilled surgeon. It is the gold standard for treating endo. Laparoscopy is generally used for diagnosis of endometriosis. When you all say you've had "Laparoscopy" what do you mean exactly? I'm just confused. I had laparoscopy to treat adhesions and was diagnosed that way. It's a very broad term. Also, have any of you seen the documentary "Endo What?"

I have. About a year after the laproscopy I got naturally pregnant with my daughter.
