At least twice a year since I was 16 (now almost 26) I have major "flare ups" as I call them. It starts early in the AM, I wake up & begin vomiting every 30 mins, having severe pain in my stomach, have diarrhea or very frequent, painful bowel movements. It's unbearable and I usually end up in the emergency room where they give me IV fluids, gravol, buscopan and morphine until the flare passes. They always do a multitude of tests on me and never find anything wrong with my test results. Once… read more
They diagnosed me with kidney stones but then I ended up back in hospital a few weeks later with the same pains and this time the doc said the kidney stones diagnosis I was given was wrong. They tested me for everything. Had CT scans, bloods, urine, ultrasound, gyno checks... they still didn't know what was wrong. My mum had suggested I could have endo since I was young as I always had terrible periods and so I went back to my GP and said could it be endo? Then she said oh yeah maybe, I was thinking of that... So I went to a gynaecologist and had a laparoscopy a few weeks later which revealed endo was there, especially around my bowel, and I also had my appendix removed at the same time as the surgeon thought that was going to flare up. @A MyEndometriosisTeam Member
@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member what happened to you mirrors what happened to me two years ago!
I had something a little similar this past Feb, where I had really bad RLQ pain, flank pain, and vomiting. At first they thought I had a UTI and was on a bunch of different antibiotics; but the symptoms never went away. Ended up in the emerg, where I was given zofran/ and dilaudid IV (for the nausea/pain) had a CT, but nothing abnormal was seen; so I was discharged. I have an appointment with a urologist in Sept, I think I probably have endo on the bladder now, which is causing the urinary symptoms; no real explanation for the RLQ pain or vomiting.
Ive had the same problem regulary. over the years they seem to subside following the laps and hysteroscopies. the bowel issue is inevitable and eating is out of the question on those days. I drink lots of water to stay hydrated and pull threw those days.
Yes!!! I am lying in hospital right now and losing my mind... just found this forum. I was diagnosed 3 months ago and thought they had got rid of it all and now I feel so deflated (unlike my bowels)
