Question On Birth Control Treatment.

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I've been given birth control to tackle the extreme pain, but I'm quite worried about the damage the endo is doing to my body. Is the excess lining still going to grow and wreak havoc? Where should I go from here if I want to have children?

Everyone is different. For me, birth control did nothing to stop the progress of endo. If you are still getting a period while on birth control then it will continue to grow. After surgery to remove endo is generally considered the best time to try for kids (more likely). Best to talk to doctor or specialist who is knowledgable about endo. :)

I've been with my partner for almost 7 years and we've talk over having children quite a lot over the last two years. It's definitely not something we can do immediately, but we were aiming to try and get pregnant a few years from now.
