Hi

I was diagnosed with endo at the beginning of this year and had op shortly after. My consultant wanted me to have mirena coil but after reading up on side effects and stories from friends and on forums I chose not to have it and try pill. I have tried 2 different ones so far neither of which were any good for me with the latter making my mood swings intolerable for everyone around me. I have been offered a lower dose pill today which I am going to try but I was told of this was no good then… read more

Hi, I had mirena inserted during my first laparoscopy April 2015. I kept it in for as long as possible but had it removed in October 2015 due to horrendous bleeding and everything was worse. I have just had another laparoscopy and my gynaecologist has inserted the mirena again and has also put me on the mini pill to help everything. So far I've got a lot of pain (not sure if it's to do with mirena) but haven't as yet apart from after op haven't had any bleeding.
It's different with different people! Maybe try it and if it doesn't work just have it taken out! Although I fainted twice during having mine taken out, it easy enough to be removed. I hope you get it sorted!

I think this is whats making this so difficult that people react so differently to the same thing. With the mirena coil I haven't heard anything good about it

I've had a terrible experience with the mirena and am thinking about having it removed. Everyone is different so everyone reacts different but I haven't had any luck with pills or depo either.
