I would seriously consider getting a second opinion elsewhere...unfortunately this is the way many doctors "treat" our disease and it is almost always unnecessary! See another doctor, if possible track down someone who specializes in excision surgery and see what they say.

I was told the same at 18 years old. I'm now 30 and finally found a doctor who specializes in complete excision and thinks I can become pregnant :D :D I just had my surgery on Feb 1 so we shall see!

I opted out of a hysterectomy at the age of 19. All because I wanted kids so bad. But now that I'm 22 I really wish I just did it.

I am with @A MyEndometriosisTeam Member, try to find another doctor and seek other opinions... at 23 and getting menopause might be a bit drastic...

If you do want children someday, might be worth it to meet with a fertility dr before having a hysterectomy to see what their thought/opinions are. They can also run a bunch of tests. And i agree with the person above, get a second opinion.
