My dr. told me they only give estradiol & provera when you have had a hysterectomy at a young age. That it is to relieve the post menopause stage. Is there anyone young out there that has taken this medthat doesn't have a period/

Hi Gee I'm sorry to hear that. I had the same thing done in July & it was benign so I hope yours is too. Are you on any kind of hormones? I stopped everything & hope it doesn't make the endo come back. I'm confused cause I had endo behind the bowel & bladder a long long time ago & it was never removed completely cause of where it was at. Do you think it is still there or do you think it is adhesions that is causing my pain? I go Fri. for colonoscopy & endoscopy & I dread Thurs the prep day. Please let me know how your test turned out & I'm pretty sure it will be ok. Most of the time they say it is benign. Best of luck to you & I will say a prayer for you. hugs Tigreyes

Ovarian remnant syndrome is when a microscopic ovarian tissue remains behind on the pelvic wall. It can grow back in the full shape of an ovary with blood vessels and produce hormones , which was my case. This can only be removed surgically. I too had to stop all hormones as they filled my breasts full of cysts. Mammogram was clear 3 years ago . Unfortunately mammogram wasn't good last week and they performed a thin needle biopsy. I will get the results Tuesday afternoon, until then I am in limbo. I going through all different emotions as this caught off guard.

Thank you for the info. What exactly ovarian remnant syndrome? I stopped everything cause my breast were getting cysts & I had to have a biopsy& thank God it was benign. All my dr.s said get off of it & I did. I was taking it most of my life. May I ask what your reaction was to the estradiol? Thanks Tigreyes

Hi , I had my hysterectomy at 40. They only put me on estradiol not provera. I had a reaction to it so I went on to bio identical hormones. As of last year October I stopped all HRT as it was causing me to gave ovarian remnant syndrome.
