Medical Induced Menopause
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I was wondering if anyone on here has opted to medically be put in 6 months of menopause? Any insight here would be greatly appreciated.

I am on month 2 of aygestin and femara (letrozole) for stage in. My period has stopped and I have no breakthrough bleeding which is great. I even lost 3 lbs. I am having minimal pain in comparison to before. Now the downside, my skin is a mess, I never had problems with acne before but now I do. I do notice that keeping Bozeman in my face when I sleep reduces the inflammation. In addition, the night sweats are brutal (2-3 per night), the fatigue is moderate to severe, and I have pretty significant joint/bone pain. I called my reproductive endocrinologist yesterday and he increased the aygestin from 5mg to 7.5 and kept the letrozole the same. We will see how it goes

I have because the specialist wanted me to before one of our IVF cycles. TBH I hated it the side effects were terrible and I put on a lot of weight and it didn't help my pain at all. It could be good for you though and doesn't mean you will get all the side effects. Take care

I am doing all the research I can but I also want people's opinions on what they went through it when they tried this option. I am just tired of missing work so much in the last year. I am not in danger of losing my job but before this last year I hardly missed work. But the idea that I feel like crap more often than not it is really getting to me and weary me down. The way I feel is how I first felt when I was first diagnosed 8 years ago. Just frustrated with how often I am missing work, life etc. I appreciate all the insight from the bottom of my heart I helps me.
