Is anyone here on norethindrone? I've been on for nine months now and the only relief I'm getting from it is that it's helped the flow of my periods a bunch. But other than that, it ain't doing diddly squat. Has anyone found relief while taking it? Should I stay on it?
I took it as directed by the doctor for 3 weeks at a time and then with a break of 1 week to have a period. It did help with controlling bleeding but didn't really help with the severe pain I was getting. Even after restarting the tablets after the 1 week break, I had really bad pains for another 1-2 weeks and this only eased up for about a week before the whole process was repeated again. I don't know if doctors advise for it to be taken long term. I stopped taking it after I had the Mirena Coil fitted. It's hard to say if it's best to stay on it. For me it was a big factor that the bleeding was more under control but I was in so much pain, I needed an alternative. I hope the coil will eventually ease the pain and the bleeding but I'm still waiting for this to happen. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
It did nothing for me. I stopped using it because a new doctor I was going to said it wasn't very good for your body.
Thank you both for both of your responses, definitely gave me some good for thought.
