Wow thats so scary!
I got a letter in the mail yesterday and I have my first appointment on the 15th of June where they are going to schedule my surgery. so glad its not that long of a wait. 5 months is such a long time with something like endo!

I'll have a look at changing my diet and do some research, thank you for all your answers and help :)

they only found the endo on the bowel and liver during first lap yes... until that point they were actually concerned about cancer bc they couldn't even see my left ovary on the ultrasounds.

From the time i got referred by my family doc to my gyne was like 5 months wait, then from when i saw gyn first to surgery was another 3 months.. our healthcare system here is so ridiculous though.. I really hope you are not waiting that long.

Don't hesitate to call and nag to get a date, that's what i kept doing for my surgery and I swear if I hadn't kept calling week after week to get a date I would have been waiting even longer. Here, the squeaky wheel gets the grease and it seems that in our healthcare system you have to be VERY squeaky lol!

I am on the urgent list now because they already know i have endo, they already know that it is located in two very risky spots, and my symptoms are worse than they have ever been... like steady diet of dilaudid day after day bad...

If you are still waiting for first diagnostic lap you could be waiting a while. I have found that changes in diet have helped with symptoms in the past. Mostly following a strict anti-inflammatory diet, giving up dairy altogether and also sugar and gluten. It's no fun but it beats being in unnecessary pain.

I am in Perth, Australia. Thats such a long time, did they only find it on your bowel and liver after the first laparoscopy or through your symptoms?
I have a feeling that it's on my bowel because most my pain is there.
I called up the Gynaecologist i was referred to and they couldn't even give me an estimate as to how soon my first appointment would be, I just have to wait for a letter to come in the mail with my appointment date and time :(
I am on the public list here too and there is also a lack of specialists it seems like it anyway.
How could i be put on the urgent list? does it depend on how bad your symptoms are?

where are you? for my first laparoscopy i waited over 3 months here in SK, Canada... but that's public health and a lack of specialists/OR staffing for you. I am now waiting for second laparoscopy a year later and was put on the Gyn's urgent list so she figured within 6 weeks, but may be longer bc she needs a general surgeon to excise endo from liver and bowel.

best of luck, hope you don't have to wait too long because waiting is worse than actual surgery.
