Every time I get my period, I have diarrhea or throw up. I can't keep food in, so I try not to eat during. Does this happen to anyone else?
I had issues like that when my periods first started, at 13. Every single month, for the first couple of days, I would get so sick. Over the years I've been able to eliminate those issues through diet and exercise. When I know it's coming on, I cut out sugar and take in more salt. I'm honestly not certain if it's the salt or iodine, or even just the lack of sugar, but it has helped so much. Certain yoga positions are also very beneficial, as well as a TENS unit, to ease up pelvic pain and stomach issues that come with it. I still get nausea from time to time, and none of it takes away the pain, but it does help.
@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member hmm, that's a good idea! I'll try that next month!
Yes but I also get constipated some months.
Hi, yeah i also always have diarrhea when on my period! No clue why!
Prior to my lap and starting birth control, I often had some sort of stomach issues during my period. Even now, I experience random nausea from time to time (I have bowel endo as well, so I don't know if that is related). I wonder if your doctor would prescribe Zofran or something to help with the nausea so you can at least eat (and keep down) some mild food during your period. I know that's really rough and I hope you find some relief <3
