Hi Tigreyes!

I've had one biopsy with an incision around the areola with dissection down to the cyst (which broke). It was pretty standard. I had general anesthesia which was standard when it was done in 1979. I used ice packs on the bulky dressing and mild pain medication the night of surgery. I think I took the dressing off the next day. It healed uneventfully. I've also had several fine needle aspiration biopsies done by a good hospital pathologist for thickness in the same area as the cysts. They showed scar tissue which was growing. This has stopped as my hormones have gotten regulated and endometriosis in remission with high dose natural progesterone. I used to have a breast surgeon follow my fibrocystic breasts but no longer since the problems seem to have resolved.

Please let me know if you have any other questions. My email is (Email address can only be seen by the question and answer creators)

I haven't had an actual biopsy, but I had a surgery to remove a duct. They had to insert a wire into the spot prior to surgery. They froze it and I didn't feel a thing. I assume a biopsy would be similar. I hope it goes well. :)
