My first period since my laparoscopy and hysteroscopy for stage 4 endometriosis on my bowels and uterus is due on Monday - I've heard first periods after are extremely painful, and my surgeon tells me to "pre load" with painkillers - has anyone else been through this? Can anyone tell me what to expect?
By “safe foods” I mean the things I tolerate best when I’m having a flare up. I have intestinal Endo and certain foods I cannot tolerate at all during my period (almost like I need to be vegan 2 weeks out of the month. But I have found there are certain comfort foods/safe foodsI can eat while I’m in pain that don’t cause discomfort.
I've always been a bit put off by the cup - do you think ordinary tampax will be okay for my first period?
What do you mean by safe foods? Some people think diet can help but I haven't been convinced by this so far. What do you think?
I didn’t have any pain and never heard that. But I’m a firm believer in hoping for the best and preparing for the worst. So, had i heard that- id totally have heeded the advice - been ready with all my Endo comforts (heat / safe foods / bed / couch / pain killers). Good luck!!
