Hi all, I’m after some reassurance that I’m not totally crazy. I’m two weeks post lap for a 10cm cyst in my right ovary. During surgery they inserted a mirena iud to control endometriosis symptoms. I’m stage 3-4 and have a follow up on the 30th. The past three days I’ve been getting unbelievably painful cramps. I’ve never had children so I don’t want to insult anyone that’s had terrible labour pains, but they honestly feel like contractions. It starts off as bad period pain and then intensifies… read more
Yeah, I was hoping with all my heart it would work because it was such a good idea behind it. Unfortunately not everything works for everyone, I've since tried 4 other treatments in tablet form just to find the perfect one for me. In total I think I've tried 8-9 different treatments and think I've finally found a combined pill that works. The best thing I found for finding treatment was going to an endocrinologist to assess my hormones and pick the best hormone meds for me, she was amazing and literally knows every possible drug I could take to help and has promised to find me the perfect one. I hope the mirena pain calms down for you though ❤️
Thanks for your feedback guys.
I won’t pull the plug too early but no point in putting me through this if it’s not working.
I’ve been told to see an endocrinologist too, so maybe that’s a good start! Thanks again x
Right, that makes sense. I just don’t know how long I should be putting up with it. I just don’t know if any other treatments that work as good to stop endo. Definitely don’t want a hysterectomy yet
I had the same thing, I put up with it for 5 months and I couldn't walk for majority of those months because walking triggered the contraction like cramps. I eventually had to get it out and haven't had pain since, upon consulting a few different doctors about it it's a common thing for women who haven't had children because our uterus' are smaller.
This exact thing happened to me - unfortunately, it lasted a solid 6-7 months. Then it calmed down, and now it lessens the frequency of my period, as well as the length and flow. I still get pain attacks like that every few weeks at this point, but I think that’s the endometriosis at it’s finest.
