Hi everyone, I am due to have another laparoscopy due to severe pelvic pain and had one previously only six months ago. I am wondering if anyone knows if they'll use the same incisions as last time? Or will they go through different entry points?
Thanks! (From someone who doesnt want to add to the four incisions already on my abdomen hahaha)
For me on my second most recent one the drs went by them. I now have two on belly button two abov my c section scar and one kind of the side. From experience they do incisions by the other incision sites.
A laparotomy has more chances of getting scar tissues and adhesions. I had 1 laparotomy and 1 laparoscopy and on my 3rd surgery which was supposed to be laparoscopy, they proceeded on cutting me open as my abdomen was filled with scar tissues; adhesions and endometriosis. I got weakened by these procedures along with my immune system. I get sick so easily especially when I work hard or do more activities. I seem to have a problem with controlling my activities when I feel great and the next day I can not get up. I have now to listen and adjust to my "new body".
It will probably be the same for multiple laparoscopies.
I had a total of 5 laparoscopy and I have 5 different entry points. I was told it depends on the scar tissue and where they need to remove tissue. I’m no doctor. Good luck to you
