I would appreciate any feedback on anyone who has had a sigmoid test. What the procedure was like & if you were sedated & what kind of prep did you have to do.?
There’s no prep for them and i have always asked for sedation. It’s honestly way easier than a colonoscopy. I have Colitis so do these tests frequently
Do you know if all doctors will do sedation ? I'm asking this question bc I need a sigmoid test before Mayo Clinic will do surgery on me. I can't see a GI dr at the Mayo until late Sept. so I found another GI dr in Vegas & I'm going there in July but the nurse says he doesn't do sedation. I'm also going there to be treated for Barretts Esophugus so I figure it won't be a waste of time & I'm hoping to get him to sedate me bc I also have a note from my dr. telling about my anxiety issues. I heard that you have to do enemas. Did you have to do that & do they do it for you or is it done at home? Sorry for all the questions but I am really freaked out over this & its such a long wait to worry. I appreciate your help. Thank you. My Mom had colitis & sometimes I think I have it bc I get diarrhea a lot. hugs tigreyes
Kol ha'kavod! That means "all the strength." Go for it!
Not according to the Mayo Clinic. I already had colonoscopy & endoscopy last year in Sept 2017 not even a year. They only need to see the bottom part my dr. said.
Most doctors no longer perform sigmoidoscopies as they cannot see the entire colon. Colonoscopies are now the norm.
