I was given a prescription for it and wanted other opinions. I am gonna fill it at the end of the month because I am trying to get a handle on the spotting and pain so that I can at least feel confident enough to put myself out there and try dating again.

I was on Visanne for 3 months and LOVED the way I never had to worry about a sudden bloods pot in untimely moments...but the sudden suicidal thoughts didn't really make it worth it...

It made me gain weight - not excessive amounts, but enough for me to feel even worse about myself. This might differ from one person to the next.

I would definitely suggest trying it and see how it works for you and your own body. But always remember that you can stop it at any stage if you feel uncomfortable with the side effects. All hormone pills will have side effects - I guess we just decide which ones we are happy to live with

Good luck!

Everyone is different and reacts differently to visanne, I've personally tried it twice because I wanted it to work so badly but it made me suicidal. I'm very sensitive to drops I'm estrogen though so that's why it effected my mood so much. I would say definitely give it a go, I loved how it affected my periods. Although if you start getting side effects you don't like, stop it ASAP.

The drug is VERY new to Jamaica and VERY expensive. I couldn't afford it anymore and had to stop taking it. Insurance doesn't cover it. However, I was not comfortable with some of the side effects. I am changing doctors soon. Hopefully the symptoms will improve after. Fingers crossed.

Hi, I am using visanne almost 4 years. First 6 month I had all bad effects they wrote :badmood, feel hot, pain, some bleeding, everything! But after 4 month this effects started to go away slowly, so 3.5 years I feel good, no periods, no pain, no bleeding, no acne
I didnt gain waight, mood is okay etc. Minus - lebido go away, hair become weak - but vitamine helps.
