I've been on visanne for about 5 years now, when I started visanne i was extremely underweight and when i started the course I gained about 10kg.
I also have no sex drive, I feel like an 80 year old lady and I'm only 26.
Anyone have this problem and have you found a solution? My gynecologist says I may have low testosterone and I did bloods yesterday to test, awaiting the results.

Yeah I’ve experienced those on all my birth controls since my lap. I’ve put on about 30-40 kilos and my sex drive is completely gone. I took visanne on two separate occasions in this past year and a bit and each time the side effects just got too much.

I have been on Visanne for 6 months now. 3 months ago my sex drive has pretty much died. Along with that nausea. It just comes out of nowhere and I now carry a bag with me. I feel so much better but the cost is high...

Any doctor who says Visanne doesn’t affect your sex drive is full of it (or being paid). I’m 36. I was on birth control for 18 years. By husband had a vasectomy and I ran out of my long term favourite birth control on a vacation (Nuva ring) ...so I quit. Seemed sensible. I have breast cancer concerns and bc doesn’t make that better. So I quit. Needless to say; within 3 months the pain was excruciating (bc masks endometriosis symptoms) so I went to the doc and eventually was diagnosed. Now I have no periods, minimal pain, no other side effects (that I’m aware of) but I’m a dead fish. Dead. I can use a toy or make it happen but it is NEVER organic anymore. I’ve lost my womanhood. If this were a male disease there would be a fukin fix for it. It’s nonsense. All of it. How is this my new ‘normal’? How is this ‘ok’?!? Wth

I’m so glad to hear that there are others with a similar experience to mine - my doctor also told me that they don’t think my symptoms are related to Visanne. I took it for ten months, and I also gained 10kg, had no sex drive and a very low mood. I really wasn’t my self, and sepnt a lot of time sitting on the couch with a hot water bottle doing nothing. I stopped taking Visanne, and things started to improve pretty quickly. I’m not sure what to do next tho. Has anyone else had problems while taking Visanne?

Thank you for the response. When I spoke to my gynecologist about it she said that noone has ever had the side effects I've had, especially the low sex drive and i couldn't understand as surely I couldn't be the only one. So thank you for informing me that you also had the same experience.
