Does Endometriosis Pain Increase Week By Week?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I haven't been formally diagnosed, but I have a 2cm endometria on my left ovary. I'm on continuous oral birth control (skipping the placebos and my cycle) so it can't be that
It gets worse each week in duration and intensity and has been this way since October. it started with some random spikes of pain at like a 5 but now is nearly constant at a 7. All I can find is that endometriosis pain usually increases in one's cycle (but then decreases) or that its a slow progression. I'm really scared… read more

Yes my pain increased every month, I had no idea what endometriosis was, at some points I didn't believe my own pain but definitely get diagnosed because it worked for me I got pregnant after my surgery (stage IV and I had trouble getting pregnant). Also if you think your doctor doesn't believe you get a second opinion

Hey lovely,
It could be a few things.
If you’ve got an endometrioma, you’ve probably got stage 3 or 4 endo.
Mine got progressively worse too. When I had surgery they discovered that one of my cysts had ruptured, so that was probably causing more pain. It might be worth checking that out - if you’re in that much pain.
You could have adhesions that are thickening/tightening around your organs. This can cause pain, and that gets worse over time.
Also, if there are adhesions preventing your ovaries from moving, this can cause pain - especially on the right side - when your ovaries try to move. Are you booked in for surgery soon?
