Does anyone have disability status or accommodations for work because of their endo? I'm having difficulty with my work and was wondering.

The "accommodations" my work offered were FMLA (upaid sick leave) or drop to 20 hours a week (which I can't afford). Any knowledge would be helpful!!

Members shared their experiences navigating disability accommodations and leave options for endometriosis, with many describing frustration at being told endo doesn't qualify as a disability despite its significant impact on daily functioning. Several members offered practical guidance, including using accumulated sick days or vacation time during FMLA (which employers are required to pay out first), applying for short-term and long-term disability through work, and seeking specialized disability attorneys if pursuing formal disability status or Social Security Disability (SSD). A recurring theme was the challenge of proving the severity of endometriosis to employers and judges, the financial strain of unpaid leave, and the persistence required to secure appropriate accommodations or benefits.

I think you will. As long as your doctor signs your FMLA form.

So did anyone get approved for short term disability from work due to endo while waiting for hysterectomy which is in 3 weeks ? I applied for FMLA and short term disability from my employer. They told me I will be approved for the surgery but really wanting to know if I might be approved from now until 3 weeks from now when I have my surgery?
