Does Physical Activity Trigger Flare Ups

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Anytime I walk for extended periods or run specifically I start cramping pretty bad. Even standing too long can result in serrious pain. I'm pretty active though so it stresses me out. Is this normal?

Yes, it does for me and the more I do the worse it is. Yesterday, I helped my moved things around and now I'm paying for it on my left side of my back down my leg and my left ovary is flared up. Omg in pain today. Hope you feel better.

this happens to me, too, and I bleed. Sometimes just standing causes pain or a 5 minute walk.

Before excision on good days I could get to about 3,000 steps before I would have struggles to stay on my feet the pain would get so bad. On bad days I could go about 3 steps

If you have scar tissue in your pelvis, which is very common with endo, exercise can cause pain by attempting to stretch adhesions which do not stretch. Pre-exercise muscle stretches may help. Do you have a pelvic physical therapist to help you? This would be very helpful.
