Egg Freezing
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have stage 4 Endo, my surgeon said to freeze my eggs after the surgery because the hormones used to help extract the eggs could stimulate my ovaries and cause another cyst hemmorage. But I have seen that my surgery could damage my ovarian reserve. Any help or advice would be great!!

I have also read that surgery can damage ovarian reserve. I don't know what to believe as I also read that surgery is helpful before IVF and natural conception.

First, I am surprised that at stage 4 you have fertile eggs. good for you! Mine were not! Are you wanting a hysterectomy or just getting a laparoscopy?

I would go see a fertility doctor. Freezing eggs is really expensive. Most insurances don't cover it. I would do research on this subject before getting surgery. This is a serious topic to be thinking about. If you want to have kids and think the surgery will make you unable to, I would go see a fertility specialist.
I have level three and went to see one.
