Thanks for sharing. They only prescribed me the lupron, no pills. Haven’t noticed any other symptoms besides a headache, but it hasn’t even been a week since I got the shot. Not sure if I am stage one or two. I only have a 2 cm and 4 cm on my ovaries. Thanks again for the advice and insight. Sending positive energy to you as well.

I’m currently on Lupron!!! I know it’s different for everyone but just get ready. I can’t speak about egg retrieval as my chances are very slim for that. They say that Lupron is more likely to help fertility in women that catch endo in the early stages but that doesn’t mean further progressed endo automatically means it won’t work. It’s really just a wait and see type of thing unfortunately. Personally, I don’t believe the Lupron has helped me at all considering my symptoms have gotten worse since the initial injection. Just remember to keep your endo diet going, take it as easy as you can, if they gave you pills to balance your hormones TAKE IT; It may not make a huge difference but it definitely helps, and keeps ice packs on hand. I have one of those wrap around ice packs so I can still be up doing stuff and not worry about being super hot.

@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member Thanks for this info! Not OP, but I already did a Lupron cycle back in March. I did my second retrieval last week and was wondering why my follicle count and retrieved egg count were SO low only a year after my first. I thought it was my fault somehow.

I wish my doctor would have at least warned me it could be lower this time due to the Lupron. If I had known I may have decided to just get another laparoscopy and a "clean out" and get the retrieval done in a few months instead. It feels like this retrieval was a waste (not completely - I'm so grateful I got anything out of it, but still).😐

Of course, every case is unique (and Lupron is continued to be used widely for IVF suppression/timing for egg retrieval) so I want to share this with the utmost respect for others freedom of choice. But if this information had been available at the time I was put on Lupron, I would have appreciated someone sharing it with me. Unfortunately the lawsuit filed only came years later.

If you haven’t already, please do your own research, ask questions, and speak openly with your doctor so you can make fully informed decisions for your unique needs and long term health. Not many doctors know about the possible implications because of the raw data not matching the published data that was admittedly falsified. If you have been through possible side effects already and this is the best choice for you, then please forgive me for sharing, but for anyone who didn’t know please read below.

An independent review of the original clinical trials for Lupron, used to treat endometriosis, revealed a concerning finding: the raw data—sealed by the manufacturer and not included in the official label—showed that 62.5% of women did not return to baseline ovarian function one year after stopping the drug. This suggests long-term or potentially permanent ovulatory suppression, which contradicts the official claim that function is “reversible upon discontinuation.” (You can google Dr. David Redwine on Lupron/ Lupron victim’s hub, “they say Lupron is safe” and more).
