Hi, this is my first post here....I am 35 and was diagnosed with endometriosis a few years ago. I have been actively ttc for a 4-5 months now. I’m scared about fertility and was told that I have low Amh and low egg count. Will be trying Ivf in a month if no success conceiving. Wanted to ask does anyone have success stories with Ivf and low follicle count?
For protocol? I did 11 days of birth control, then 3 days off, then started gonal-f and letrozole.. eventually added orgalutran to prevent ovulation and if things progress well this week, theres an ovulation trigger shot before the retrieval. I have read that with low AMH and over 35, BC can oversuppress follicle growth so i am kind of surprised they used it for me.
Hello! I’m also 35 and was diagnosed with endo just in the past year after going off BC to TTC in Oct 2019 (had been to the Dr numerous times over several years for random symptoms that got dismissed but symptoms really ramped up and became unbearable when i went off the pill). I have low AMH, though can’t recall the exact number at the moment… also left tube blocked, 3 large endometriomas on the left ovary, 2 uterine fibroids etc and had 3 early pregnancy losses in a year. I am in the middle of our first IVF cycle (we didn’t do medicated cycles or IUI because the Dr recommended preserving embryos ASAP, particularly because we’d hope to have 2 kids). It has been touch and go…one of the big issues is the endometriomas are blocking the view of the left so we really have no idea if any follicles are growing there, and initially I had nothing growing on the right and elevated FSH levels because apparently the BC oversuppressed everything. Anyway, I am taking it one appointment at a time and hoping to either have a successful retrieval, or try again next month with a different protocol.
Good luck! Hope you don’t get to that point ☺️
Yeah I hear good things about my fertility dr as he’s helped so many but because he’s so busy I don’t get enough one on one talks with him. I hope they don’t use a standardized approach on me and hopefully customize it to me having endometriosis. I have to look into the BC protocol you mentioning I don’t think I’ll have that. I’ll let you know what they suggest as soon as I know.
Thanks Jen. I was told to do IVF after 6 months of trying. Wishing you lots of love, luck and hopefully good news soon!
