I've had it for 4 months too, the first 3 were hell, was about to go get it removed and then after a really, really bad week, almost all my pain is gone, after two years of daily cramps.

I am still cautious and checking myself, it's been barely 3 weeks and I've been taking painkillers for a bad flu all this time, but they didn't do anything for that pain before.

I've also started gaining weight and have ZERO sexual drive.

You are going to see lots of very different experiences, I'd say, keep it only as long as you feel you can bear it, but if it's torture for much longer then remove it and ask your doctor for alternatives. Best luck with it ❤️

I had the Mirena for 6 months and got it removed because it made my pain much worse even though it stopped my periods. I couldnt walk and grew a 5cm cyst in my ovary that started twisting. Basically got the ball rolling though and the surgery to remove it diagnosed my endo 🤷‍♀️

I expelled it but I had horrible adenomyosis. A friend of mine with Endo is on her third and loves it. But we are all different so if it’s not working for you, don’t live in misery

I had the Mirena for four months, I hated it after one but tried to give it a good chance - I had non stop bleeding, bad cramping (not as bad as my endo episodes but more regularly!) and worst of all I couldn’t sleep!! I could not get one night of sleep for more than three hours, doc said it wasn’t related but moment I got it out I went back to sleeping normally. I’m on zoely contraceptive Pill now, a lot more expensive but I seem to work best on this so far.

The mirena didnt work for me at all 5 months of heavy bleeding pain and feeling sick I had to get mine removed in January last year as it was embedded in my uterus plus had to remove a 7cm endometrioma and fibroid to if u feel it isn't helping I would suggest getting it removed x
