Hi everyone,

I am about 8 weeks post lap + excision surgery. I am starting to have the same pain in my lower right pelvis as I was before surgery.

Is this normal?

Thank you

I don't know if it's "normal" but it has happened to me with 2 out of 3 excision surgeries. Hurt in the same place as before. In my case I had to have another surgery a year later and my left ovary and tube removed. That helped a ton. My dr said that the excise everything they can see but unfortunately that means if there is endometriosis lesions beginning to form they can't see them and thus excise them. I actually read something recently, I think it was on one of the centers for endometriosis website, that sometimes women do need a follow-up clean up surgery after excision like a few weeks or something after specifically for getting anything that was missed, or to get rid of adhesions. And sometimes, people just need extra time to heal and things get inflamed. Definitely recommend talking with your doctor. I hope you continue to heal and that the pain improves soon!!
