Im going to college in a few months and im scared that endo will hold me back, any suggestions or advice on how to manage endo at school?
Hi Celia,
I'd definitely recommend getting prescription for meds advised by your gynaec (painkiller/BC/Visanne/supplements), as well as have non-medical pain management systems in place --electric heating pad/hot water bag, daily yoga/mild exercise regime, nutritious diet, good sleep, etc.
It's great that your college admin is willing to accommodate, but missing out on studies or extra curriculars won't give you a great college experience. So, I'd rather focus on how to manage endo through medical and non-medical ways, and try my best to avoid missing out in the first place.
Good luck at college!
Glad to hear that , that's brilliant very best of luck 💛
Im so sorry that was your experience thats unbelievable 😕. I just spoke with my advisory team and they said they'd try to make a plan incase i had to miss alot of school or anything like that so hopefully that works out
I'm not sure what to suggest really I had lots of days of school/college/work etc in my lifetime it got so unbearable I had to give up my job altogether as was too much to bear in the end, I really do wish I had some positives to share on this but I haven't . I didn't have the luxury of a diagnosis at that time but if I did I would've hoped that would have made my employers etc more understanding towards my situation however unfortunately they were not n would rather make me redundant and swindle me out of redundancy pay also I should have took them to tribunal but was to unwell I genuinely believe they thought because I was young I should be fit and thought I was making it up , I do hope you have a better experience with your education than I did , I still did well in exams but I had to work extra harder and was more stressful due to Endometriosis and days off 💛
