I find a lot of things trigger flare ups for me:
Gluten
Too much dairy
Alcohol
Fizzy drinks
Acidic foods/drinks
Too many carbs
To much caffeine
Sex
Over exercising
Stress
Not enough sleep
IN ALL CAPS BECAUSE I'VE GOT THE FOOD TRIGGERS DOWN..
TOMATOES
DAIRY
BEEF
ALCOHOL
SODA
PROCESSED FOODS
I still have some of these because I'm weak. But tomatoes (and any red sauce) give me endo belly everytime!
I've notice that
Lifting too much, heavy or light things, it triggers my endometriosis. I'm not sure if anyone else goes through this. Sex can trigger it. Stress can trigger it. Getting up from a sitting position too quickly or awkwardly, can trigger it. I never really noticed if certain foods are a trigger for me. I'm a big lady and I like what I like to eat and drink. However, I never really focused on my food triggers or what I drink. I usually try to cope through it, depending on the severity of it. Motrin, muscle relaxer, jazz and rocking myself to sleep are my methods of trying to get through it, especially during my cycles. If everything I mentioned takes too longs to work, I get on the floor, usually in the praying position, and pray, cry & moan then I try lying down again and rocking.
So in other words we're screwed ๐คจ๐๐ฎโ๐จ smh I can relate to pretty much most of the triggers everyone mentioned. I've never really thought about what my triggers are for Endo hmm ๐ค I suppose it wouldn't hurt to start now or at least keep track of what I did, ate or led to an episode. What's crazy for me is I don't even have a physical cycle where I bleed anymore due to being on Northedrine Acetate 10mg and also I have an IUD; but I still have cramps every once in a while.
For me going to the bathroom, sitting down too fast or getting up can cause pain, sex even masturbation can cause great pain. Heating pad, hot baths, Ibprofen/Tylenol and deep relaxing techniques help ease some of the pain. Now I will say since my last surgery and being on my current meds with the IUD the pain is no way near as severe like it was now I can at least work and have a some what have a life. Although the mental fog and fatigue are still there ๐๐ฅบ
I'm vegan, so take that into consideration as my list is the same as others, but mine are:
Sugar
Alcohol
Fatty foods
Stress
Aerobic exercise (I might go on a short stroll these days if I can bare it)
Caffeine
I eat light meals, and stay away from sugar, caffeine, and alcohol. I try to work from home if I can and/or reduce my workload as well. I also take herbs called Mense Ease by Evergreen that I get from my acupuncturist. They are the best herbs in the world.
