Warrnambool, AU

I’ve previously been on Slinda and Primolut, neither helped with pain or symptoms only eased back bleeding. I found both made me gain weight. I’m 36, endo diagnosed when I was 24, have had multiple laparoscopic surgeries and am perpetually in pain.

I’ve been taking Visanne for 8 months.
My menstruation completely stopped about 2 months ago. I only get some occasional lower back pain, but it goes away quickly.
However, the side effects are horrible.
It deeply affects my motivation and mood.
There’s a constant mental fog, depression, and not to mention fatigue.
In short, I’m trying to stabilize inflammation and follow an exceptional diet and lifestyle routine, and when the time comes,
I just want to forget this period of my life on Visanne.
For now, I have no choice, as the consequences on my ovaries would be too severe otherwise.

I'm also now realising that I think Visanne is to blame for fatigue, low mood, feeling "zombified".

I have been using it since 2021 and it works for me. I still get pain sometimes if I'm stressed or eat the wrong thing, but overall it's been a Godsend. I can't say I've noticed aide effects other than possible weight gain.

No I haven't had any surgery for the endo yet. I did find the Visanne made me very irritable, depressed, gave me acne and contributed to fatigue at first but I think my body has now adjusted. So, not great, but in the end I feel glad to be on it for now. Long term though I'd rather explore herbal remedies as it's a new medication and the long term effects aren't well studied. I also have ADHD and progesterone medications can make ADHD worse 🙃

Have you had surgeries prior? And have you had any other side effects from the drug? Eg mood, weight gain, hair loss, etc?
