I stopped my GLP1 in July, I knew I would gain weight. However since I started Ryeqo I have gained 21 pounds. I’m bloated all the time and I have started to get break through bleeding and I am outside the first 30 days. Any advice would be really helpful as I have a GP appointment next week.

Have you experienced weight gain and bloating since starting Ryeqo?

Weight gain and bloating are concerns that many people with endometriosis face, especially when starting new treatments. Some endometriosis medications can cause weight gain as a side effect, and hormonal treatments in particular have been linked to this issue.

The bloating you're experiencing could be "endo belly," which is fluid retention that makes your belly look bigger and can cause swelling. High estrogen levels and constipation from endometriosis can contribute to this uncomfortable symptom.

Breakthrough bleeding outside the initial adjustment period is also something worth discussing with your doctor, as it may indicate your body is still adjusting to the medication or that the dosage needs evaluation. What to discuss at your GP appointment:

- The 21-pound weight gain since starting Ryeqo
- Persistent bloating and how it's affecting your daily life
- Breakthrough bleeding occurring after the first 30 days
- Whether medication adjustments might help
- Possible dietary changes to reduce bloating (like avoiding dairy, gluten, red meat, and sugar)
- Whether other conditions might be contributing to your symptoms

Your doctor can help determine if the weight gain is related to the medication, fluid retention, or other factors. They may consider adjusting your treatment plan or exploring other options that work better for your body.
