When is a second surgery warranted for endometriosis after hysterectomy?
Unfortunately, endometriosis can return even after hysterectomy. A MyEndometriosisTeam member shared they were "four years post-radical hysterectomy" and "just had endometriosis excision surgery with a specialist, and it was found in three areas."
Surgery was warranted because the found it on bowel, ovaries, appendix, etc.
Bowel endometriosis is near rectum and isn't removalable without needing a colostomy bag, so now they want to remove ovaries. Surgical menopause seems my only option now since I cant afford the hormone suppression meds.
Endometriosis is not a menstrual disease therefore a hysterectomy is no cure. Endometriosis is a systemic chronic full-body inflammatory disease that's incurable. We absolutely muat have excision with a vetted endometriosis excision specialist. No ablation!
