Birth Control Depression

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭
Grand Rapids, MI

Has anyone been able to find birth control pills that don't cause severe mood changes? I'm usually really happy and upbeat. Recently started birth control pills again and I forgot how much it affects my mood. Has anyone found that different birth control has different effects on mood? Any experiences or help would be great

So Many Emotions!

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hello!

I am wondering I am just naturally extremely sensitive to everything, or if maybe I could attribute this to Endo a little? I have always been a sensitive person, but definitely for the past several years have been very tearful, and feel mini heart breaks throughout the day (sorry, that's the best way I can describe it). Does anyone else feel this way? If so, how do you control it? I am a very joyous person, but sometimes I will hear something (generally something from my partner - who… read more

Should I Go On Brith Control?

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭
Sebastian, FL

I want a second baby however due to circumstances it will probably be almost a year before we can start trying for another baby. My surgeon told me that if I decided not to start trying for a baby I should go on birth control so my endometriosis doesn't come back. Is it a good idea to start on birth control if we'll be trying within a year or would the birth control keep me from getting pregnant after I've stopped it. Also does birth control really prevent Endo from coming back? I'm just looking… read more

I was on Slynd for about 2.5 months. For me, it was terrible. It didn’t help with pain at all and I had frequent irregular bleeding. Other symptoms were: nausea, absolutely zero sex drive, weight… read more

Is It Safe To Get A Massage Or Facial While Taking Lo Loestrin Fe? (Or Birth Control Pills)

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I recently read online because a massage increases blood flow it is not safe while taking birth control pills because of the possibility of dislodging a blood clot. I would also like to know if a facial is ok. Any insight?

Is Excision Better Than Ablation? Could You Tell A Difference?

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭
Tennessee, IL

I was diagnosed 2.5 years ago with endo via laproscopy mostly on the left side. The dr I used did ablation. I felt some better. Was immediately put on birth control. then went down the road of trying different birth controls. Because A it wasn't helping or B. I'd have side effects.. I'll be honest I don't like taking birth control I feel like it makes me an emotional roller coaster and gives me multiple side effects..I decided to visit a specialist. I went she did an exam which revealed what… read more

YES!!! Excision is the BEST way to go. Ablation gives you much shorter time before the endo will return. I had ablation for my first surgery and was back to intense pain after only two months. I had e… read more

Who Doesn't Get Their Period And Has Pain And Can't Point It To A Time In Their Period?

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭
Portland, OR

I don't get my period, I've been on birth control since I was 16. First the depo shot for 8 years, and now the mirena IUD for about 1 year and 4 months. I haven't had my period since I went on depo. I just can't really point my pain to a certain time of the month, with hormones, since I don't get my period. Is there anyone else that doesn't get their period and gets pain from the endo?
