Hi

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭
Johannesburg, ZA

I have been on vissane for two years now and have not had my period. Has anyone used this medication and how was it when you went off the medication and does it affect your pregnancy chances?

I have no idea about pregnancy but when I went off visanne I started my cycle again with the birth control pill. My gynae mentioned that depending on how long you've been on it you just need to take the pill to help regulate a cycle again and then its fine. She said something like if you've been on visanne for 2 years it may take 3-6 months to ovulate normally again

Has anyone tried both Visanne and Aygestin (norethindrone) ? Is so, would you please share your experience with the pros and cons of each? Did you have weight gain, bloating, fluid retention, etc on one more than the other? What about breakthrough bleeding?

Hi Ladies, If any of you could help, I would be grateful. Today, I came back from the doctor and was asked to start taking Visanne because of very heavy bleeding. To be honest, I am afraid to take it because it has so many side effects. If any of you have experienced anything, let me know, please. Thank you so much.

I was using it for about 4 years, had no period during that time.Besides side effects, it worked well no pain at all. We recently started ttc and my period returned as normal as soon as I stopped but its been 3 months and not ovulating. Waiting for it to naturally work itself out of my system. The pain now is unbearable and back to where I was before the laparoscopy's and vissane.
