Has Anyone Experienced Very, Very Severe Pain On Opening Bowels During Their Period?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

Pain was so bad I couldn't breathe, shaking, nearly passing out was so bad I thought I was going to die. So have had my periods stopped now via cerazette but am not getting on with it very well :(. Did anyone have this and go on to have a lap, if so what was the outcome? I've been told for the last 7 years it's a symptom of endo, nurse was confident as was GP then gyno consultant said it's probably a bowel problem. Cerazette also controls my constant pelvic pain too (mostly!)

I second guess my pain is from endo but i really dont know what else it could be other than that. I even what ifed my own surgeon to death and he told me to stop doing it because im just drivibg myself nuts. But i remember several months ago when I had a bowel movement I felt something pull and tear in my lower abdomen area I couldnt tell if it was my small intestine or what! It was pretty painful for a few seconds then it went away. I can feel my stool move through my lower abdomen and down as its being released. Its just so strange. I know it can hurt worse on my period and i noticed passing gas on my period kinda hurts too. I remember having a bowel movement and i got this really bad aching throbbinb sensation and shooting pain up my butt...I couldnt sit for a while but it happened out of nowhere! All these things make me eager to get to surgery to get treated.

I get butt lightning on my period too...shooting sharp pain up my butt that then shoot to my uterus it hurts so bad i have to cross my legs.

Thanks ladies, wow this was 2 years ago. The sigmoid colon was completely plastered to the uterus and vagina, it grown through and formed a mass inside so needed that part of the bowel removed. Still ongoing...waiting for hysterectomy for aden but bowel pain back πŸ˜• nightmare x

I had the sigmoid colon removed, I think its the most common area for bowel endo,no bag or anything. I think the lower down it is the more likely you are to need one but its always only temporary. Am in cornwall uk ☺x

I am so glad I came across this. As soon as I need to go to the loo or I feel the start of bowel movement the pain automatically kicks in. I have tried taking laxatives around the time of my period and drinking increasingly strong coffee so that I am constantly emptying my bowels. It does work but not sure if the dr would agree with my approach. When I had my l laparoscopy the doctor said that my bowel looked in larged so now I am wondering if that has something to do with the pain.

the pill hides a lot of the pain but not from the bowel
