I'm trying to figure out this whole hormonal thing too. I had a total hysterectomy in may 2017. No ovaries now. No uterus. Everything gone EXCEPT for a cervical stump. I have been on the .05 estradiol patch ONLY this whole time. Had my hormones checked and doc said I'm on the low end of normal for estrogen however I don't have any symptoms of low E. Wouldn't I have had urinary frequency or issues prior to getting a UTI if my estrogen was that low??? I guess I'm trying to figure out if I truly… read more

You know I'm really not sure but I do know endo lives off the estrogen & if they are giving you estrogen it could stir things up. That is why I take both so that one counter acts the other. Since my hysterectomy in 1978 they put me on them & I took it all my life. I tried to get off twice & bad results a lot of pain. I'm now facing another surgery bc I stopped the hormones for 7 months & when it went out of my system I had horrible pain & ended up in the ER & now I'm back on it & my pain went from a 8 to a 4. I t has helped me but everyone is different. I also have bowel issues so I have to get all that checked out before Mayo clinic will even do surgery. I hope I coul dbe of some help. Best of luck to you.

I don't take provera. I only take estrogen. Is the .05 enough to make endo grow again??

Are you taking just the estradiol .05. I take that same dose in a pill form but I take provera 2.5 mg with it. I have had a total hysterectomy & its been 40 yrs & I still take it. One is suppose to counter act the other. If you had a total they should of put you on it I would think. Ask your dr. about it.
