Do I Have Endo? Doctors Keep Ignoring My Concerns
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi all,

So growing up I have always had heavy periods with lots of cramping and back pain. I went on various forms of BC since I was 16. They all helped a bit with cramping but not with my heavy flow. Have you been diagnosed with PCOS? it may be a fibroid or fibroids too... if youre not getting answers you need i would push harder or find a different dr. Be your own advocate!!! I waited years to do so and I'm regretting it now

Symptoms match up with that of endo. It definetly sounds like you have other stuff going on than just the cyst. I had multiple fibroids and polyps in my uterus as well as a cyst on my left ovary, with what looked like one possible spot of endo there as well. That was my initial diagnosis. So I was scheduled for a hystroscopy (instrument goes in through the vagina and removes fibroids/poylps) and laproscopy for the cyst removal. Well turns out the entire outside of my uterus was covered in endo, as well as several areas of scar tissue and lesions from old endo. As others mentioned, if you feel there is more going on than a pulled muscle don't wait in getting a second or third opinion. I dealt with what I thought was just my version of a "bad period" for 20 yrs.

Give this a read. This is what all doctors should follow in treating women with endo. See if it links to you and I would even take it to the doctor with me.
