I have always had heavy painful periods, long periods, pelvic pain, back pain upon multiple other symptoms. I have had 3 kids and symptoms worsened after having each of them. I had a laparoscopy on 12/5/18, I was diagnosed with endometriosis, had a cyst removed off of my right ovary, and my tubes removed. I have been on multiple birth control pills in the past and had the Mirena, none of them helped. My doctor is recommending lupron injections, i am new to endometriosis and just looking for… read more
DON"T DO IT!
Thank you guys for sharing your thoughts and experiences! My pain is really bad.. I havent found very many positive things about lupron, so I am still undecided on what to do ..
I've had the lupron shot and it helped me alot I barely had my period cuz it would give u pre menopause and the pain was almost gone then I stopped to have my son and after he was born i tried birth control pills again and they as rent working at all so imma see if i can go back to lupron cuz it really helped alot how bad is ur pain?
So I might not be the best person to give advice about the Lupron injection but I seem to have found that the Lupron injection is what the doctors prefer to use before moving on to any other options. I was on the Lupron injection for 3 months from February-April 2018. I have been diagnosed with Endo for about 9 years but have been dealing with it for longer. I dealt with the normal side effects of the shot, hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, insomnia things that are normal with menopause. I was put on HRT the last 2 months to help a little bit with the side effects. I did not like Lupron. It did not help with the pain. The only thing it did for me that helped was stop the periods for that time and about 2 months after I was done with it and added on worsening side effects that eventually lead me to not sleeping ever. But it effects every person differently, I was very scared and skeptical about even doing it in the first place, but like I said it seems to be what the doctors prefer to do before looking at next steps.
This was done after 2 laparoscopies, first one was to just remove a cyst on my right ovary and the second one was to remove my whole right ovary and the right Fallopian tube, as well as tie them. I got this done after my second child.
I am now looking at getting a total hysterectomy done to take everything out so hopefully not deal with this any longer as it is destroying my life.
I am sorry it is not the best review for Lupron but it's honest!
