Ok sorry this is so long. I started a new birth control the 13th of july. The first few weeks were fine bur then on aug 3 i switched it out and right away my head was pounding i was very shaky and my body hurt and then a few days later i got sick to the point of puking( that was yesterday) and then today i have a little bit of a cough. If you have a history of migraines or headaches, the nuvaring can make them much much worse. Puking is not a good reaction to birth control, but the same thing happened to me when i left my nuvarimg in for the 4th week (as directed so i would not have a period). Turns out i was incredibly constipated and that's what was making me nauseous and vomit. I have no way of knowing if the nuvaring caused the constipation or not because I'm on too many other meds right now. But my doctor did say because this is the first time in a really long
time i haven't had a period, most likely it's just my body 'adjusting' to not having a period (although it felt like a period × 10 just without bleeding). I would call your doctor for sure. They also said if my nausea doesn't go away it could be too high of an estrogen dose for me.
If you are coughing and have chest pain make sure you tell your doctor and mention you are using nuvaring as this can be a sign of blood clots.
